Highlights¶

This is a minor release containing new features and enhancements to existing features, and API additions. The features of this release were developed to enhance the design capabilities, performance, and improve ease of use of applications. System administrators and users will benefit from the enhancements across their application.

OneStream 9.x: now supported; customers upgrading need an updated integration DLL (see Action Required)
Agent: real-time queue processing replaces batch-based execution
New APIs: cancel or delete requests, and return members by property value as a list or count
Bulk Upload: stops reprocessing failed records when no progress is made
Migration module: large file downloads, retained export selections, and lower memory use
Deployment fixes: Deployment Manager environments, weekly schedules, file-based deployment status, and Essbase BSO Label Only parents

Enhancements¶

EW-333: ⚠ Upgrade Impact Notice – OneStream Version 9.x Support¶

EPMware now supports OneStream Application Version 9.x. Customers upgrading to OneStream 9.x must complete the following steps to ensure compatibility with EPMware.

Required Actions:

Request Updated DLL: Customers must open a Support ticket with EPMware to obtain the updated OneStream integration DLL required for version 9.x compatibility.
New Alias Property: OneStream version 9.x introduces a new property called "Alias", which is a text-type property. EPMware will add this property automatically to existing OneStream applications configured in EPMware.
Populating the Alias Property: If customers choose to populate the new Alias property, they may do so using any of the following methods:
- Update the property directly within EPMware
- Use the Application Import feature
- Use the Bulk Upload feature

These options allow customers to synchronize Alias property values between OneStream and EPMware.

EW-2444: New Deployment Configuration Report¶

Added a new report under the Deployment Report Group to display Deployment Configuration details.

EW-2447: Agent Processing Performance Improvements¶

Agent processing has been improved by removing batch-based execution and enabling real-time queue processing.

Benefits include:

Faster request processing
Reduced queue wait times
Improved deployment responsiveness

EW-2448: Export "Include Top Member" Field Visibility¶

The "Include Top Member" field is now always visible.

If no Top Member is selected, the field remains visible but disabled.

EW-2454: New Application Property to Control Metadata Deletion¶

Added new Application Property:

ALLOW_APPLICATION_DELETE_METADATA

Default Value: Y

This property allows administrators to control whether metadata deletion is permitted independently of full application deletion.

Also fixed issue where Dimension deletion was allowed even when deletion was disabled.

EW-2460: New API to Cancel or Delete Requests¶

Added new API in package EW_REQ_API to allow programmatic cancellation or deletion of requests.

EW-2462: Metadata Explorer Search Validation¶

If a user searches using only *, the system now displays:

Please enter search text.

This prevents unnecessary full metadata scans.

EW-2463: New Global Setting for Debugging Derived Property Performance¶

New Global Setting added:

Debug - Derived Properties in Export Module

Used to assist with performance troubleshooting. Disabled by default.

EW-2465: Bulk Upload Performance Improvements¶

Improved bulk upload logic to prevent repeated processing of failed records.

Previously, failed records were repeatedly reprocessed unnecessarily.

Now, reprocessing stops when no progress is detected, significantly improving performance.

EW-2468: New API to Retrieve Members by Property Value¶

Enhanced API in EW_HIERARCHY package:

Function: get_members_having_prop_value

New optional parameter: p_list_or_count

Allows returning either:

Member list
Member count

Supports dimension filtering and wildcard matching.

EW-2476: Correct Request Line Ordering After Member Move¶

Resolved issue where moving newly created members under new parent members caused incorrect request line ordering.

This caused deployment failures in Essbase and OneStream.

Fix: Request lines are now automatically reordered to ensure parent members appear before child members.

Fixed Issues¶

EW-2441: Deployment Manager Update Error When Environment Assigned¶

Updating a Deployment Manager configured with Request-based deployment and an assigned environment caused the following Apache log error:

JSON parse error: Cannot deserialize value of type java.lang.Long from String "UAT"

This issue has been fixed by correcting environment value handling during Deployment Manager updates.

EW-2442: Migration Module Large File Download Failure¶

Downloading very large files (e.g., 2 GB) from the Migration Module resulted in the error:

No space left on device

Fix: Large files are now automatically compressed (zipped) before download to prevent memory and disk space limitations.

EW-2445: Essbase BSO Deployment Failure with Label Only Parent and Dynamic Calc Children¶

Essbase API previously attempted cube restructuring before the full hierarchy was created, resulting in validation errors.

Scenario:

Parent member with Label Only data storage.
Multiple child members with Dynamic Calc data storage and formulas.

Fix: Deployment logic now ensures the complete hierarchy is built before triggering cube restructure.

EW-2446: LAST_UPDATE_DATE Not Updated in Agent Queue for PBCS Deployments¶

The LAST_UPDATE_DATE field in the Agent Queue table was not updated for successful or failed deployment records. This has been corrected.

EW-2449: Weekly Deployment Schedule Not Processing Requests¶

Deployment Managers configured with weekly schedules failed to process queued requests correctly.

Fix: Scheduled deployments now correctly process requests at the specified scheduled time.

EW-2450: Native User Lockout Not Cleared After Password Reset¶

Two issues were resolved:

Password reset by an administrator now immediately clears the lockout.
Incorrect lockout timer display (showing excessive wait times due to time zone differences) has been corrected.

EW-2451: Migration Export Screen Loses Object Selections¶

After submitting an export, the Migration Module refreshed and cleared all selected objects.

Fix: Selections are now retained after export, allowing users to retry migrations without reselecting objects.

EW-2456: File-Based Deployments Not Marked Completed¶

Requests containing both direct and file-based deployments were not correctly marked as completed.

Fix: File-based deployments are now properly marked as completed after successful execution.

EW-2457: ORA Errors in Hierarchy Reports¶

The following reports generated ORA errors due to duplicate column configurations:

This has been corrected.

EW-2458: Migration Failures for Large Metadata Exports¶

Migration Export/Import failed with:

ORA-27163: out of memory

Cause: High memory usage during XML processing for large metadata exports.

Fix: Migration module improvements reduce memory consumption.

Important Requirement: Source and Target environments must be on the same EPMware release version when performing metadata migration.

EW-2459: Compare Hierarchies Report Missing Results¶

When Source and Target Top Member Names differed (e.g., "Employees" vs "EMPLOYEE"), descendant comparisons were excluded.

Fix: The report now correctly compares descendant members even when Top Member Names differ.
